At times, there are reckless drivers and negligent accidents that occur. These types of collisions can injure many people. Such injuries call for treatment and care. They can also cause you to lose income by not working.

How Can A Rear-End Accident Occur?

Many reasons lead to rear-end accidents:

  • Usually, there should be a four-second gap between you and the vehicles in your lane. Tailgating another driver is not allowing yourself enough time to respond to an emergency or fast stop.
  • Ignoring Speed Limits. Speeding risks everybody’s lives. When speeding, you cannot control your vehicle and you need more time to come to a complete stop. Should the car in front of you stop suddenly, you will not be able to stop in time before hitting them.
  • Changing Lanes or Turning too Fast. Drivers should use their signals when turning, scan the scene around them, and then safely turn or change lanes. Drivers that do not use their signals or cut in front of other vehicles are likely to cause accidents.

In Alabama, the fault tends to remain with the driver who hit the car from the back. However, there are other ways when the driver in front is at fault.

  • A vehicle pulls out in front of you, but they were too close.
  • A vehicle in front of you changed lanes too fast, not giving you enough car space.

Chain Reaction Accidents

Another type of rear-end accident is chain reaction accidents. It only requires one negligent driver to be distracted, and they hit the car in front of them, which forces that car to hit the one in front of them, thereby causing a dangerous reaction chain of accidents.

What Types of Injuries Do You Get in Rear-End Accidents?

Rear-end collisions are dangerous and can cause the following injuries:

  • Brain injury
  • Spinal injury

If you have been in a rear-end collision, it is crucial to seek medical care as soon as possible. The adrenaline rush after an accident could hide certain injuries, which can cause the injury to worsen. We at the Bryant Law Firm, LLC, are here to help you every step of the way.
